Caroline Paquette, PhD, of the Department of Kinesiology & Physical Education, McGill University, will give an informal seminar and demonstration on transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on October 16 at noon in Room 101, Rabinovitch House. tDCS is being used to investigate brain plasticity. Brain stimulation techniques such as tDCS have the potential to become effective therapeutic tools.

Nous effectuons actuellement des recherches sous la supervision du Dr. Dave Saint-Amour (PhD, professeur au département de psychologie à l’UQAM) pour mieux comprendre ce phénomène et son influence dans la perception visuelle.

Vous serez appelé à faire un test préliminaire en ligne, et d’ après vos résultats vous seriez invité à réaliser des tests complémentaires dans notre laboratoire. Dans ce dernier cas, une compensation financière vous sera remise pour votre temps.

We are looking for potential synesthetes!

· Do you feel like letters, numbers or words elicit specific colours?

· Do you perceive colours when you hear particular musical notes?

· Do some flavors evoke colour sensations?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions you are probably experiencing synesthesia.

We are currently working on a research project, under the supervision of Dr. Dave Saint-Amour (PhD, professor of the Psychology at UQAM), to better understand this phenomenon and their relationship with visual perception.

You will be asked to make a preliminary test online, and according to your results, further tests will be performed in our laboratory. In this last case you will be monetary compensated.
