Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is a dynamic and multidisciplinary field that continually evolves with the changing landscape of technology and human needs. At the heart of HCI research
lie the methods we employ to understand, design, and evaluate interactive systems and user experience. HCI has inherited methods from other disciplines, sometimes (radically) changed them to suit our purposes, and we have created our own methods.
To foster the growth of our field, we invite contributions to a special issue of Interacting with Computers dedicated to discussing the challenges and innovations in research and practice
in the fields of HCI and UX. As evidenced by the history of our journal, these papers make a significant contribution to the HCI community and are often widely cited. We welcome submissions that discuss the challenges of current methods or shed light on innovative
methodological approaches, reflect on existing methods, or provide strong empirical evidence to consolidate and improve our methodological toolkit. Whether you are a researcher, designer, or practitioner, we invite you to contribute to this important dialogue.
If you are not sure whether your submission would fit the special issue, please contact Helen Petrie ([log in to unmask]),
one of the co-editors, with a short abstract.
Initial extended abstracts of up to 1500 words can present an outline of the paper and its contribution in any way you prefer, please submit a PDF document.
Full manuscripts should adhere to the guidelines provided on the Interacting with Computers (IwC) website (https://academic.oup.com/iwc/pages/General_Instructions).
Submitted papers will undergo a rigorous peer-review process.
